Landshut is a town in Bavaria in the south-east of Germany. Situated on the banks of the River Isar, Landshut is the capital of Lower Bavaria.

The Landshut Wedding is one of the largest medieval festivals in Europe. It is celebrated during three weeks every four years and it's been going on since 1903. There are between 800,000 and 900,000 visitors from all around the world and more than 2,000 actors and actresses take part to re-stage the wedding between Princess Hedwig of Poland and George, the son of the Duke of Bavaria in 1475. The procession is just part of the festivities, which also include jousting, medieval music and dancing, food and drink, and theatrical performances. Great effort is put into making the costumes look as historically correct as possible and cars are not allowed in the city.

Die Landshuter Hochzeit ist eines der größten Mittelalterfeste Europas. Es wird alle vier Jahre drei Wochen lang gefeiert und findet seit 1903 statt. Es kommen zwischen 800.000 und 900.000 Besucher aus der ganzen Welt und mehr als 2.000 Schauspieler und Schauspielerinnen nehmen teil, um die Hochzeit zwischen Prinzessin Hedwig von Polen und Prinzessin Hedwig nachzustellen Georg, dem Sohn des Herzogs von Bayern, im Jahr 1475. Der Umzug ist nur ein Teil der Feierlichkeiten, zu denen auch Ritterspiele, mittelalterliche Musik und Tänze, Essen und Trinken sowie Theateraufführungen gehören. Es wird viel Wert darauf gelegt, dass die Kostüme so historisch wie möglich aussehen, und Autos sind in der Stadt nicht erlaubt.
